Kiss Be With You

During my daughter’s first month of permanently staying here in Singapore with us, we always attend an English Mass where she enjoys singing along with the choir while patiently following the lyrics in the monitor. She always look forward to Sunday as we have inculcated in her young mind that it’s a Family Day as well as Jesus’ Day. She likes it when we kiss and hug each other during the exchanges of Peace Be With You.
She became more excited when my mum joined us to take care of her while waiting for the papers of her official nanny to be approved. One Sunday, I informed her that we are going to attend Tagalog Mass with Mama Vie (my mum). We chose to do so because my mum is beginning to feel homesickness. To my enchantment, she asked… “Mommy, are we going to have Kiss Be With You also in Tagalog Mass?”
Che, Kyla is really growing to be sweet, again, we have you and your hubby to thank for that sweetness and thoughtfulness in her. She is really a picture of pure joy right now and is growing really pretty everyday.
I also love the “peace be with you” part in the mass, where people do not simply bow peace to each other, but take time to extend their hands for a warm shake of peace, and where family put a kiss to each other in the cheek and give each other a peace hug, it is so inspiring.
Hmmm, I wonder why I only see this blog right now? Maybe I was too complaining about my state of health. But am glad I came to visit this page again
hahaha! may son matthew’s latest is ‘mom, i’m an esport in —— (i forgot what it is). i said, what, anak? he said, you know it. i’ve done it 3 times. esport.
oh Lord. ‘anak, escort yun.’
‘are you talking about expert? yung person who knows what he is doing and is doing it well?’
‘yes.’

This is funny….interesting and very endearing! Your daughter is adorable, Che! And such a happy childhood with Lola in the scene…wow…what a bonus! Kyla is truly blessed, just as she is a blessing.
I agree with Beth, I like the peace-be-with-you part of the mass. Shows genuine camaraderie and friendship. Our mass has evolved already and gone are the days when the rituals are stiff and the “peace be with yous” are done by the merest of nod (as if one is irritated by an over-long bangs –hehe) I am glad it is now done warmly, with the firm shake of a hand and families are no longer inhibited to kiss and hug. Whew, aren’t we glad we are not in the medieval ages of Latin masses said with the priest’s back to the people (teehee)
The kiss-be-with you is so cute and funny ! Lucky for you to have nanny for Kyla - something not affordable here, that is a big help !
oh! such a sweet young lady, your kyla is..one day when fate decides all of us shall meet, i shall be sitting next to her for the kiss be with you moment.
